We went to The Ship for my husband's birthday. The restaurant has a fantastic menu with many family favorites and delicious home cooked traditional dishes that were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The timing between courses was perfect. The meals looked amazing and tasted even better! It was difficult to choose what to order because everything looked so tempting, but what we did have was flavorful and plentiful. We had three courses and felt that it was great value for money, if not underpriced for the quality. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and couldn't find a single fault. We will definitely be recommending The Ship to all our family and friends. It was just perfect!
We visited the Ship for a meal out with friends. We have been to the Ship many times in the past but the last time was about eighteen month’s ago. The welcome was friendly, with a warm atmosphere. The food was amazing, hot and very tasty, the portion sizes were big too. We all had different meals, I had three courses while my wife and friends had two. We all commented of how good tge food was.
After visiting Seaton…(never again)… We were hungry and looking for a decent pub and drove past and decided to stop…not sure if they would even be open let alone serving food. So glad we did, lovely food, very welcoming and excellent service. Very few people in, not surprised given it was November but a real gem of a place and could easily imagine on a sunny summers day the place would be packed. Absolutely recommend this pub and we all need to support places like this.
We had lunch at this restaurant based on a recommendation from the staff at the caravan site we were staying at near Axminster. It was such a fantastic experience that we decided to book again for Sunday lunch the following week. The food was delicious and we enjoyed it so much that we returned for a light lunch on our last day of the holiday. We dined outside on the terrace with views of the estuary on the warm days and inside in the front part of the restaurant for Sunday lunch. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. The food was some of the best we have had in years, even compared to top end restaurants we have visited. The warm goats cheese salad I had on the first visit was the tastiest and most original salad I have ever tasted. My wife said the belly of pork she had was amongst the best she had ever eaten. For Sunday lunch, we both had the lamb roast which was perfectly cooked and served with plenty of vegetables. On our final visit, my wife had an excellent fish pie and I had a starter size portion of the warm goats cheese salad again. Each meal was followed by a delicious homemade Dorset Apple cake with clotted cream, which was also exceptional. We can't wait to return to this amazing restaurant. This is a genuine six star review and we have no affiliation with the Ship in any way.
After seeking recommendations on local forums, we made a reservation for a party of 15 for Sunday lunch. The service we received was outstanding and the food was delicious. We had no complaints whatsoever.
