At Ealing's popular Japanese chain, expectations run high for a delightful culinary experience. However, recent visits indicate a scattershot performance, with some patrons disappointed by inattentive service and slow drink arrivals. While dishes like chicken karaage and sushi garnered praise, the Pad Thai fell short, described as excessively salty. The atmosphere is a balance of casual and chaotic, prompting a mix of reviews regarding staff efficiency and English proficiency. Though the food can be flavorful and well-priced, consistency appears to be the key issue, making this establishment a gamble for those seeking a reliable dining experience.

Was Seacroft at Hare And Tortoise a mag?
My roast duck and rice with vegetables was excellent. The duck was succulent and beautifully crispy. Vegetables were a little over cooked. My wife's salmon was tender. And my daughter's chicken curry was faultless. Huge servings. Great value for money. 28 pounds for three people. View all feedback.
What chandraviolin dislikes about Hare And Tortoise:
The sushi was just....wrong. Overcooked rice and very poor ingredients, full of mayo and sauce. The fried dishes were terrible, soft and greasy, as if they had been cooked an hour ago. In general a very mediocre experience, with loud music and not great service. There's much better restaurants in Ealing, just go down the street to Kobe. View all feedback.
My experience at the Hare and Tortoise on a Friday evening was fantastic. Despite the restaurant being very busy, we were seated quickly. The service was efficient and the food was flavorful. Overall, it was excellent, great value, and I would definitely return.
Ealing Broadway is just one of the six locations of this Japanese restaurant chain. The ambiance is laid-back, but the service is fast. The food is excellent, with a diverse menu featuring sushi, noodles, Ramen, and Udon. Conveniently located near Ealing Broadway tube station, this restaurant is a great option for a pleasant meal with friends or a significant other.
The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious! I always go for the Curry Laksa as my main dish. The Octopus Lolly Pop Sticks are a nice appetizer and the Gyoza are delicious. The Curry Laksa is a triumph, with its coconut soup base. The staff turnover seems high, but they do the job. I like to treat myself here every 6 months. It's all about the amazing taste!
This is Asian canteen eating, and many of the staff have very poor English. The food is good but the atmosphere is stressed, they are taking away your plates as soon as you put your chopsticks down. Also you tend to get your whole order all at once. It's worth making a fuss so the manager, who speaks excellent English, will intervene and you get what you want , when you want it.
We enjoy coming here for a dinner. And we have never had any problems. The service is always good and quick and the food is absolutely delicious
