Menu
The restaurant from Durham offers 85 different menus and drinks on the menu for an average price of £6.
The Crown has mixed reviews, with some customers praising it as the best pub in Harlow, while others are disappointed with the declining atmosphere and service quality. However, most agree that the ale selection is excellent and staff are friendly. The Sunday lunch is highly recommended, with a variety of options available. The pub is dog-friendly and accommodating to guests' needs, such as adjusting music volume. Overall, it seems to be a community hub where locals can enjoy a decent pint and good food, despite some issues with noise levels and service.

Was Laverne Bernhard at The Crown a mag?
We didn't plan on eating at this restaurant specifically, we happened to stumble upon it and we're so glad we did! The staff were incredibly friendly and took our temperatures before seating us. They were welcoming and went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable, a true asset to the business. Me and my friend ordered starters and mains, with mine pictured here. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced... View all feedback.
What 1Ciara E 1 year ago on Google dislikes about The Crown:
Ruined my birthday. 21st and they wouldn’t accept my id ridiculous! Every other bar/resturant accepted my Id and they didn’t. Also very very rude to me. Don’t ever go here worst pub ever #worstlondonpub View all feedback.
The breakfast was served beautifully, with the pancake presentation being amazing. The pancakes were fluffy with a fruity zing. The traditional breakfast was great, although I wasn't a fan of the tomatoes and mushrooms on the menu. The employee kindly suggested to replace them at no extra cost. The menu offers a large variety, including the delicious gurkenwurst, perfectly cooked eggs with speck, and top-notch sourdough bread. The fresh juices are high quality and the coffee served in a sweet glass is a nice touch. It was the perfect breakfast before the arrival of our little one! We will definitely be returning.
Friendly staff and the best part is that they dog friendly! the pancakes are amazing, only make sure that they are cursed sometimes. my 2 dogs always get a bowl of water, that's a nice one.
The breakfast was satisfying with large portions and flavorful. The coffee was also decent.
I stopped by my favorite pub for a couple of real ales. Since it was a Thursday, the options were limited as they receive new barrels on Fridays. The IPA was smooth and enjoyable, and at a reasonable price of £3.90 per pint.
Update. Sadly the pub is going downhill. Kids and troublemakers seem to have moved from the Chequers to the Crown. Fighting, urinating, lots more broken bottles around, screaming people. George too is playing incredibly loud music in the garden without any consideration for the neighbourhood. What landlord puts a DJ in the garden for hours when folk are trying to live in their homes just a few feet away?? No staff moving people on after closing, folk screaming around full volume gone 12.30am. The way it is going, the normal, loyal locals who made it a really sound place will be walking away. ____ It's a good pub, good beer and full of friendly locals, probably the best in Harlow. The landlord George seems to deal with fights and trouble pretty swift which is much better than the last landlords, in fact George is quite impressive! I just wish though that he would send out a member of staff to collect the empty bottles and glasses every morning that his patrons leave all over the vicinity which get broken. Be nice to show a little respect to the local area or serve people outside drinks in plastic. Broken glass has damaged dogs feet here in the past, as well as being dangerous generally. Such a simple and thoughtful thing to do which isn't done.
