Nestled just a short drive from the seaside town of Newcastle, The Maghera Inn has quickly established itself as a must-visit dining destination. We visited Newcastle for the Irish Open and The Maghera Inn was recommended to us. We visited the restaurant and were delighted that we did. It was the best meal we had in years. The food, service and hospitality was wonderful. We loved it and highly recommend it.
As always amazing food and great service. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. There is always a lovely atmosphere and you certainly won’t be disappointed.
The Maghera Inn is confusing if you haven't been there before. The Inn is a bar and restaurant and the carpark is at the back. The carpark has three sides so you're not always aware how busy it is. The bar part is quite dark and if you would like food you have to wait to be seated. The restaurant at the back has lots of windows. The bar part less so. As it had a number of reservations, we were seated in the darker bar part. The chicken stack and the cheesy topped Guinness and steak pie were good. Service was fine but reserved.
Proper pub. Food is good and great value, staff are brilliant and the Guinness is perfect. Even met the Lord Mayor of Maghera in the bar …
Fantastic experience. Used to eat there many years ago and the food is still as brilliant as it always was. Highly recommend a meal there. Fantastic atmosphere.
