Place of beautiful architecture, with very beautiful rooms, visitable on the day of heritage days. Too bad the association that hindered the elegance of the rooms especially in the library View all feedback.
Christmas transforms the city hotel The company of surfers — the merchants of the water — ancestor of the municipality of Paris had obtained a jurisdiction installed in 1250 near the Grand Châtelet at the place-dit the valley of misery on the dock of the Mégisserie in a house at the sign of the benign, then transferred to the parlour to the bourgeois at the beginning of the century, on the site of the current Pipull on the street This is where, since then, the centre of the municipal institutions of Paris has been created. А Former city hotel before its reconstruction began in 1533 (plan of Braun and Hogenberg, around 1530). ← Former city hotel and Place de Grève around 1583, engraving by Theodor Josef Hubert Hoffbauer, artist view executed for a publication of 1885. The House of the Pillars falling in ruin in the nineteenth century, the municipal officers asked and obtained from King Francis I in 1529 that it was replaced by a real Renaissance style palace, designed by the Italian architect Boccador[2]. Its construction began in 1533 with the first stone laid on July 15 by the patron of the merchants of Paris Pierre Violle[3]and ended in 1628. The southern part was built under François I and Henri II from 1533 to 1551, its northern part under Henri IV and Louis XIII from 1605 to 1628 (under the direction of the merchants' prevôt of Paris Robert Miron), the wars of religion having interrupted the work[4],[5]. On the occasion of this reconstruction, Charles Leconte, master carpenter of the city hotel, is the first to float a wooden work train for the needs of work on the Yonne and the Seine, a train arriving in Paris on 20 April 1547[6],[7]. On 17 June 1763, an artifice was fired at Grève in front of the town hall for the publication of Peace. [8] Detailed article: Paris City Hall under the Revolution. In the 19th century, the expansion and partial reconstruction of the city hotel was carried out according to the plans of Godde and Lesueur from 1837 to 1848, while preserving the Renaissance façade. Antoine Vivenel, a general contractor, was responsible for the project. Four painters, including Jean-Victor Schnetz, are called to celebrate the great Parisian revolutions on the walls of the ancient Temple of the Throne. This expansion destroyed the following streets and buildings[9]:
Beautiful building with Renaissance architecture! A small masterpiece in the heart of Paris that leaves no one indifferent.
Very large and beautiful central building with the offices of the Mayor of Paris... It can be visited during the heritage days and it is worth it.. It faces on one side at the BHV and on the other at the Seine... Its large square is often occupied by very interesting and distracted animations for large and small. The small garden on its Seine side and sometimes open and visit..
