The Squirrel pub in Coventry offers a mixed experience for guests, evident from various events held at the venue. Guests emphasized the fantastic atmosphere during private receptions, especially praising some staff members. However, many reported disorganization, unresponsive management, and shortages in bar service, leading to overall dissatisfaction during crucial moments. Despite these challenges, the pub remains a potential choice for gatherings, bolstered by its pleasant setting and quality food, though guests should be prepared for potential service flaws.
We reserved this restaurant a year in advance for our wedding reception. We made a deposit and everything was going smoothly until October 2022. Despite sending numerous emails and making phone calls, we were not informed that the restaurant had closed until we visited Coventry today (as we are not local). There was no communication from the restaurant regarding its closure and we did not receive a refund of our deposit. We are extremely disappointed and if possible, would rate this place with a negative score.
Amazing food, polite staff. Went to watch the football for the World Cup, amazing atmosphere!!! Will defo recommend if you want to watch sport at a pub
We recently rented out the upstairs venue at The Squirrel for an engagement party with friends, and I highly recommend booking this space for any type of celebration! Carla, the manager, was fantastic with communication, organizing everything from catering to venue requirements flawlessly. The party was a huge success, with the entire first floor reserved just for us, complete with music, bar service, and restroom facilities.
Utter rubbish bar service ‘Old skool’ night crashed every mix and used new versions of 90’s mixes MC used garage chants- badly Don’t go
The pub was quite for a lunchtime maybe because it was jubilee weekend.we ordered our meals at the bar .the barman was very friendly and made us feel very welcome.The meals were excellent .the lady who served us was very helpful.myself and my friend enjoyed the nicest rose wine we have ever had .the whole place is absolutely spotless . would definitely go back again.
