What S Franklin dislikes about Grumpy Goose:
This is the best local café, but unfortunately the new staff are not as friendly as they used to be. I now only get takeout, as it’s not worth sitting in anymore. View all feedback.
They seem to be selective on who they serve first or quick as opposed to first come first served!!!. Which is ridiculous in this time and age. I will still go there because they have good quality ingredients for breakfast and Fair to good coffee, only had black Americano, so no major skills required but good quality beans was evident. Mind you, very thin toasted bread made it rock hard, everything else tasted great. Also a sign says to wait to be seated but it does not say you need to order and pay at the counter, so you just sit and wait and no body comes, only when you ask, they say 'oh sorry you need to order at the counter ', really ? Change the sign!! So food is good; service, welcoming, friendliness is not so good. Hope it was a bad day/hour for the girls serving as it is a shame to down rate the hard work to establish this good business because of that. Remember, you forget what people give you but you never forget how they make you FEEL.. We stopped here this AM after chumming a friend to the train station and we were delighted we did! Lovely coffee delicious breakfast roll! Will be back! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
A good experience! I loved the name of the cafe, interior and branding. Simple and average menu. It won’t blow you away. However, you won’t be disappointed either. You know, that ‘cafe round the corner you don’t mind visiting every now and then’, Grumpy Goose is that kind of a place. We had: Croissant with Feta and Spinach Croissant with jalapeño, pink onion, and cream cheese Cinnamon Bun Chocolate custard twist Tuti Fruiti smoothie Cortado Filter coffee None of the items disappointed us neither we were super impressed. The young ladies working in the cafe were very friendly and attentive. For our orders we paid £23+ Do pay them a visit and let me know if your experience was any different!
