Blackfin Pub - Comox
Blackfin Pub
Description
The Blackfin Pub in Courtenay, BC offers a comfortable atmosphere with friendly staff, serving a delicious seafood chowder that is practically a meal in itself. The beef tenderloin is a great choice with generous portions, showing that the restaurant is well-run with its busy crowds. However, some diners were disappointed with various dishes, such as dry fish and unauthentic Montreal smoked meat sandwiches. Despite this, the stunning views from inside and out, along with great service, make the Blackfin Pub a recommended spot to visit. Additionally, the Hunter Schnitzel and local vegetable selection are highlights on the menu for those looking for a delicious dining experience in Courtenay.

We had lunch in blackfin pub today and it was great! it is a very nice, clean restaurant with great view and excellent service. our server samantha22 was very attentive as the hostesses who have stored our luggage for us. the seafood chowder was delicious, like the fish and chips and fish tacos. we would highly recommend!
Love this restaurant. Absolutely stunning views. The food is fantastic. We had a party of 17 and everyone loved it. The service was great. We come this way once a year and have made it a tradition to have dinner here on Saturday night. It has never disappointed
This is where we had our first meal after arriving in Courtenay. The views from our patio table were stunning as we watched the sun change angles and the tide come in. We had a hard time choosing as there were several items on the menu that we wanted to try. Finally, we ordered Hunter Schnitzel. I love the selection of local vegetables on the plate: spaghetti squash, Asian daikon, carrots, grilled broccolini and kale. We've been staying away from sugar and gluten, but couldn't resist the dessert – the pudding was just perfect, not too sweet. We've wanted to come back and eat our dinner here every night, but they are booked up and packed on the weekends.
The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The seafood chowder is excellent and could almost be a meal on its own. The beef tenderloin is an excellent option, and the portion sizes are generous. You can tell the place is well-managed since it tends to be busy. I returned for another lunch, and while it was decent, it wasn't the best I've had. My wife ordered the salmon, and I opted for the ribs.
This was our first meal upon arriving in Courtenay, and it was a fantastic choice. The views from our patio table were absolutely breathtaking as we observed the sun shifting and the tide coming in. We found it challenging to decide what to order because there were so many tempting options on the menu. In the end, we went with the Hunter Schnitzel. I especially loved the variety of local vegetables that accompanied the dish: spaghetti squash, Asiandaikon, carrots, grilled broccolini, and kale. Although we've been avoiding sugar and gluten, we couldn't resist the dessert—the pudding was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. We’ve been eager to return for dinner every night since, but unfortunately, they’re fully booked and crowded on weekends.
