Was Matt P at The Wheatsheaf Pub a mag?
Had a family meal hear and the food and service was excellent!! The vegi burger was amazing and the batter on the fish was so light and tasted amazing. The gardens quite plesent but the playground could do with some work. Staff were very friendly and even had a chat and treated us like people and not just a number. The only draw back is the lack of parking, which is a shame. View all feedback.
What Ian D dislikes about The Wheatsheaf Pub:
Not happy. I was recommending people as I had a steak chips n salad with a half of soft drink, which was fabulous. But I found out later that my guest was told there were no chips left but was offered a salad instead. After she left she discovered they charged extra for the salad. Next time I went with a friend, he asked for gluten free burger, but that just meant no bun lol! No adjustment made. Also my drink was ove... View all feedback.
The Wheatsheaf is a tucked away gem. I went for a birthday lunch with my daughters and small grandchildren, and cannot recommend it enough, especially from a family perspective. They are genuinely welcoming to children, speaking to and interacting with the little ones in a way that tells you they actually like them rather than tolerate them! The staff took the children's orders while the adults were still deciding, so that the children weren't sitting getting bored for ages. How often does that happen! They also understand that small children do not sit quietly at the table for any length of time, and at no point did we feel uncomfortable about the children being children. Something else that is often not the case when eating out. The menu was varied and diverse, the prices reasonable, and the food was excellent. Jugs of water appeared when needed. I also love the ethos behind the food of growing as much as possible in their own garden, sourcing locally and organically. The Wheatsheaf is a delightful pub restaurant and I recommend it 100% Thank you
Brilliant food , very child friendly, we popped in Friday for food was so lovely that we decided to book again for Sunday , fast service even with 13 of us the staff can’t do enough to help you will definitely be back if we are camping nearby again
This pub is fantastic and I never had to chase staff for anything. I had a lovely roast beef dinner and the roast potatoes were very, very crispy. I see good chefs in the kitchen cooking fantastic food. Staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The pub was busy but neither service or food suffered because of this. Well done to all the team and I will be back. Highly recommended.
First time there and absolutely fallen in love with it! Food was just...beyond imagining..and the home made bread..uhmmmm... Gets 5 stars from me!
A gem with added Brazilian flair. Delicious, interesting gastro pub classics with some Brazilian dishes reflective of some of the staff/owners too. It has a cosy, tasteful interior, good drinks selection (including a good range of quality wines by the glass) and attentive but relaxed service. Well worth a trip and there is ample parking. Dog friendly too, which for me is always a plus. Will come again and recommend to others.
