Was Anonym at The St. Clair a mag?
Where do I even begin? The bartender, Nathan, was absolutely fantastic! I've never experienced a night quite like this before. The music was excellent, and the crowd was lively. This is exactly what a bar in Cincinnati should be like. I can't wait to return and bring my four kids – they would really enjoy it. If I could, I would give it six stars. Wow! View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about The St. Clair:
Terrible hospitality...stood there waiting for bartender while he socialized not 6 inches away from me, zero acknowledgement! When I shouted out he ignored me and looked to another customer who hailed him FOR me. And then acted annoyed an said he was still helping someone else... All I wanted was a drink after work....: View all feedback.
Now, onto the bar itself. It’s a charming little neighborhood joint near the university, often bustling with hipsters and somewhat pricey drinks. Despite that, it has a unique appeal that explains its popularity. College students love to enjoy their drinks, and many have some extra cash to spend, so what might seem like drawbacks to others aren’t really issues for them. It may not be the top pick for the average Cincinnati local, but for college kids, it’s definitely a hot spot.
Is it embarrassing that I came to this bar two times in one day? NO because this place is awesome!! I'll try to keep this short and sweet. This is a new bar just recently opened by the 4EG group. This place reeks of sophistication with a down home feel. Decor is modern with rustic touches, and the bathroom is top notch just like all of their other locations. Love the color pallet. The bright purple stools are gorg! Now for the Sunday Funday drink special you have all been waiting for: They have $3 draft pints NO MATTER WHAT BEER YOU GET all day on Sundays. Yes, this is true. You can get a burbon barrel ale for $3, you can get a stella for $3 you can get anything on tap that your little heart desires for $3. This is my new favorite Sunday Funday deal. Extras: They don't have food, but inside is connected to Keystone so you can get food to go an bring it over! Patio is awesome. They keep the doors open inside too so the natural light is great! Service was the best we've had in a long long time. Both from Keystone next door and the bartender working yesterday 6/28 deserves a raise : Cheers! We will be back!
This is the food that we literally waited three hours for. The girl who's order this was hosted our Christmas party at barrelhead in Lawrenceburg Indiana. All the food came out except for the hosts food we told them once they came to the table all of our food was wrong everyone had somebody else's food or it was mixed up on the plates. Trouble was there was no food for the host. They kept apologizing and Food kept coming out of the kitchen for other guests in the dining room but none for her they told her they would comp her meal but they still gave her a bill for the appetizer's. An hour and a half later we were getting ready to leave and they brought the above pictured food out rare, The manager came up to the girl whose food was missing and said please don't hate us it was all server error. The fact that the manager had the audacity to blame the server entirely on the mixup was unheard of. And to think they gave her a bill for her appetizers. Never again!!!
To be honest I 'm not ashamed to say I like turning up and St. Clair makes it quite accessible for me to do that. I 'm not a heavy set guy so the Long Islands go right through me and at $2 a pop during Long Island Tuesdays, someone play Let 's Get It Started by The Black Eyed Peas! For millennials around the Clifton area, this is a great spot to get the night started. The bartenders are super nice and sometimes the DJ turns The St. Clair into the best dance party you 've been to. The vibe is always relaxed and chilled I never feel out of place. Everybody just wants to have a great time and not think about their bank accounts til the next business day. My only con is it gets pretty tight in there, and rather easy to spill your drink on someone after you 've downed lord knows how many Long Islands. I highly recommend still!
I wish there had been more bars like the St. Clair around when I was at UC... but then again, maybe it's good there wasn't... Awesome selection of craft beers, many local. Every time I've gone I've asked the bartender a bunch of questions and they have been knowledgable and patient in helping me find the right draft and letting me know what's on deck. It has a similar vibe to Lackman. Plenty of seating indoor and out, but can get pretty packed. They have some stellar happy hour specials, and overall the vibe is super comfortable. Trendy, but not pretentious. One of my faves in the UC area.
