The Monkey's Corner offers a unique dining experience with small but exceptional quality dishes. While some reviewers noted long serving times and small portion sizes, standout dishes like the crack bowl and chili crab noodles impressed with burst of flavors. The ox tongue and duck breast were also delicious, but the foie gras bowl had unexpected chives. Despite minor flaws, the food overall was delightful and worth the price. Perfect for a special visit or a seasonal treat, this charming restaurant offers an array of tempting dishes that will leave you satisfied and eager to return.
Food: 8/10 The standout dish of the evening was the Ox tongue with beef fat, chives, and lime. Cooked using Monkey's Corner's signature water bath technique, the ox tongue was incredibly tender and full of flavor. The Wagyu with onion sauce, soft eggs, and rice was also delicious, though using onsen eggs instead could elevate the dish even further. The Spicy trout belly tartare lacked texture and the flavor of the fish was overpowered by spice. The Scrambled egg with kewpie and furikake on rice was simple and homey, but could use some refinement. Ambience: 6/10 The small restaurant, located on a corner as the name suggests, offers cozy outdoor seating with a view of passersby. The use of exposed brick, plants, and heaters creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, though the lack of privacy may be a concern for some diners, especially during these times of Covid-19.
When you visit this restaurant, be sure to try the crack bowl and the chili crab noodles! Both dishes were bursting with flavor and were clear standouts. The trout bowl and ox tongue were also tasty, but in hindsight, I should have just gotten extra helpings of the crack bowl and crab noodles. The service is fast and friendly, and while the portions are small and prices are on the higher side, it's definitely worth a visit at least once.

All of the dishes which were ordered were excellent and brought out in exceptional time, however, I couldn’t help but feel that the whole dining experience was a little rushed and this was apparent with how quickly the staff were running the restaurant as well despite the restaurant not being fully booked out. I would definitely recommend the Chilli Crab noodles as the flavours and the chewiness of the noodles accompanied each other well. The Ox tongue was just as good as expected however it was lacking in the lime flavour needed to cut through the fattiness of the dish. Will definitely be coming back to try other dishes available
I love this place. The portions are small and the price is hefty but all the dishes are amazing quality<br/ We ordered:<br/ Crack bowl, goose foie gras, wagyu rump onion sauce (I was surprised when this came out because I expected a larger dish for $48 but it was the size of a small bowl of rice haha still good though)<br/ Egg noodle with spanner crab, chili crab sauce and chives<br/ Black Truffle egg noodle with mushroom<br/ Pulled pork jaffle <br/ Everything on the menu sounds delicious though and seeing food pictures on Instagram definitely makes me want to re visit to try everything else!
