The Common Cup - Chicago
The Common Cup
Description
A Black-owned neighborhood café celebrated for standout muffins, inventive honey‑lavender and seasonal lattes made with Metric beans. Regulars praise a personable owner, student stamp cards, generous laptop-friendly seating and a sunny patio (partially dog-friendly). Vegetarian options and fresh bakery items shine. Service can be slower than chains and the indoor room occasionally feels a bit sterile, but quality drinks, pastries and a warm community vibe keep customers returning.

The staff here is incredibly friendly, and the coffee is quite good. I'm a big fan of the variety of loafs they offer for snacks. They also mentioned that they are partially dog-friendly!
I was eager to try something different, and the barista suggested a honey latte with cinnamon and cayenne. It was absolutely perfect. With plenty of seating available for me and my laptop, my morning couldn't have been better.
Came in today for a cup of cappuccino and a cranberry muffin, staff was super friendly felt like I was at home and the cappuccino was delish! Will coming back soon
Super yummy drinks and food had the bacon and cheddar quiche as well as a vanilla latte. The staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and inviting. The cafe itself is very cute and offers seasonal drinks, which is always a win! Lots of different flavors, milk options, and foods. Will definitely be back!
