Federales - Chicago
Federales
Menu
The menu of Federales from Chicago contains about 76 different courses and drinks. On average you pay about $8.8 for a dish / drink.
This popular neighborhood spot offers a mixed bag of experiences. While the food may not be considered authentic Tex-Mex by some, the chips and salsa were praised as being on point. However, the street taco platter received mixed reviews with some dishes lacking in flavor. The atmosphere is lively, making it a better option for a casual night out with friends rather than a romantic date. The service was a hit or miss, with some customers feeling neglected by their servers. The alcohol selection and drinks were highly recommended, especially their margaritas. Overall, it's a great spot to enjoy quality Mexican food and drinks with friends, as long as you don't mind the occasional noisy crowd and loud music.

Feedback
Was Ashley at Federales a mag?
Food was good but it was a business meeting and they mixed all the tacos on 1 tray, with very little direction on what was what. I ended up not getting what I ordered because it was on a tray furthest away from me amongst 4 other individuals. Don't let people order separately if you're just going to mix it all together...or at least give the option to have your own meal. View all feedback.
What TaraP dislikes about Federales:
Good was decent. Chips Salsa were on point and complimentary. Street taco platter had some good options but most of the meat was lacking in flavor and the fish tacos and guacomole were a bust. Only recommend coming here if you are going out for drinks with a group. Not a date nigth spot as the music is blaring as early as 6pm. View all feedback.
I wish I had a photo of my food, but I was so hungry that I couldn't wait! I have the tacos and definitiw a place where I would come.
My friend and I drank last night after work for a quick to everyone. we were here a lot and I feel every time we go back.
I was a couple of times at federales, and honestly it was just never really a pleasant experience for me here. the security here was consistent.
My girlfriend and I had a fantastic time at this restaurant! We decided to stop by before the hawks game for some drinks and dinner. The taquito appetizer was delightful! We tried the tacos (carne asada, beef brisket, and pork belly) and they were some of the best tacos we've had in a while. We finished all the food we ordered and also enjoyed two orders of churros for dessert. They had our favorite Don Julio 1942, which is usually hard for us to find. Our server was attentive and always available for anything we needed. We will definitely be back and will recommend this restaurant to our friends and family!
