Was Jacob Johnson at Lantern a mag?
Had a delicious meal here and the steak was the star of the show. Very tender and the sauce was a delicious savory, umami concoction. The side asparagus was also quite tasty but the other appetizers were a bit unremarkable. That being said, I really can’t say enough about the steak. View all feedback.
What Sarah Frauchiger dislikes about Lantern:
Everything at Lantern was generally good, though slightly over-salted. I ordered the fried catfish curry and, looking back, might have chosen a different dish from the menu. The lighting was lovely, and the service was excellent. View all feedback.
Every time I go to the laterne, I think it can't be better, but it just had a great dinner the early rolls were just fantastic and the pork excellent and the sakitini. what can I say wait staff was helpful, but not intrusive had just a wonderful culinary experience as I came to expect from laterne.
Mocktail was tasteless. apps were good. we were a party of four. the two who enticed the duck thought it was terrible. rarely overcooked. the two who ordered the damped fish felt that it was too hot after they had told him that it was mild when they were asked before the order. hard to eat.
Great atmosphere, excellent service, okay food. The fish was cooked whole, which I'm definitely not used to. If it blew my mind I wouldn't have cared, but I've had much better fish that didn't involve mouthfuls of fishbones. The pork and chive dumplingswere good, not great. The cocktail I got (scotch, port, egg white, some other ingredients) was EXCELLENT. The chocolate cakeand peanut brittle ice cream dessert was so good we ordered a second one.
Went here on a Wednesday night and sat outside. Great location and even better restaurant. This place is incredible. Reminds me of brewery bhavana or bida manda but in Chapel Hill. I highly recommend going here. Great drink selection and great prices. Forfood get the pork dumplings, beef tar tar, mushroom noodles!
