As the curtain falls on this beloved restaurant, bittersweet sentiments arise among patrons. While some express disappointment over last-minute coupon promotions amid closure announcements, many fondly recall the vibrant atmosphere, enhanced by live music and attentive service. Diners enjoy a variety of dishes—from flavorful tacos and refreshing drinks on specials to delightful small plates. However, some note that pricing may be on the higher side, especially for tapas. Despite minor service hiccups, guests appreciate the delicious food, welcoming staff, and overall experience. While their doors may be closing, memories of fantastic meals linger on.
I arrived at the restaurant to find out that it was their last day of business and they could not honor the coupon I had received just the day before. I was disappointed that they had sent out the coupon knowing they would be closing. I tried to order the brussel sprouts, but they were out of them. Google showed the restaurant as temporarily closed, but the waiter implied that they were closing for good. The owner seemed to think I was complaining, but I was just stating the facts. It would have been helpful if they had announced their closure or their policy on honoring coupons on their website. Sending out coupons the day before closing was misleading, and I wouldn't have made the 45-minute drive if I had known.
Catalan offers a fusion of Latin, Asian, and American flavors, and they are not afraid to experiment and cater to the American palate with some of their dishes. Their charcuterie board is absolutely incredible, featuring Italian meats, assorted cheeses, fresh fruit, homemade jam, nuts, crackers, pickled peppers, and more. Their bang-bang shrimp dish consists of four huge jumbo shrimp with a light yet crispy batter and a special sauce, served on a bed of lettuce. Their Ropa Vieja is cooked for 11 to 12 hours to ensure tenderness and maximum flavor. Whether you're coming for brunch on weekends, lunch, dinner, or just drinks, you won't be able to resist ordering at least one plate after seeing the delicious food pass by. Jorge provided excellent service during our visit and made the experience even more enjoyable. Don't hesitate to give this place a try - it's definitely worth supporting this business.
We visited this restaurant for dinner on a Sunday and found that many items were out of stock, but since everything is made to order, we expected some limitations. The service was not the best as we were one of four tables inside and our server seemed uninformed, forgot appetizer plates, never refilled our drinks, and took 30 minutes to bring the check. However, he was friendly and we were celebrating a birthday, so we were not too bothered. The food we did order was delicious! We would consider returning to try the items that were unavailable.
Such a great gem in Cary! Four of us ate there for lunch today and the food was absolutely delicious! We did a mix of brunch items and regular menu items and every single one was good. We also got custom **** Marys which were also SO GOOD. We will be back for sure!
Excellent food and we really enjoyed ourselves. I went twice in a row because it was so good!
