As a local, I’m willing to go on the record as saying you will always get a good meal at the Hampden.It can be a bit noisy on a busy night in the back dining room because of the hard floors, but the front dining room is carpeted so it’s always nice. View all feedback.

the hamden hotel is the only place that tries in camperdown. has her basic pub grub alone with a few specials. I had the duck jump roll and porterhouse steak. both were pretty good and good value. second night oysters kilpatrick and alamo cutlets, which we are both quite basic. do not utter super delicious and the cutlets 50% fat. all in all. the personal is friendly. eating is hit and miss. just go with the bases an... The meal at the counter consisted of yam, which was much better than junk food and served at a reasonable speed.
I had a wonderful meal here, starting with the lamb tikka masala curry. It was absolutely delicious! The lamb was incredibly tender and the sauce was flavorful. The plain rice complemented the curry perfectly. My partner ordered the lamb cutlets, which were also fantastic. For dessert, the sticky date pudding was spot on. It’s best to make a reservation in advance, as the place gets busy. It was quite noisy during our visit, but if you can look past that, I highly recommend this restaurant. Service: 5, Location: 5.
If you're not a local at this pub, be ready for everyone to stare at you as soon as you walk in, as if you're the main attraction. The food is good, but it does take a bit of time to arrive. Overall, I would rate the service a 2 and the location a 4.
