We're on a road trip and were spending the night in Caliente. We noticed this place on our drive to our motel. We stopped for dinner and were very pleasantly pleased! Our server was very friendly. Our food came out quickly and was delicious. Very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend! View all feedback.
What Jason Cobb dislikes about Side Track:
I have eaten there before and enjoyed it. This time, we never sat down. We came in at closing time in a town with less than 1000 people and you would think they would love the opportunity for a party of 12. We were in town for a special event and they closed at 8 pm which was as soon as we could get there. Thank goodness the Knotty Pine restaurant stepped up and helped us and fed us well. Bummer. The only reason why I give it a two star instead of one is to give our server the benefit of the doubt. I am unsure if she was new or just not very experienced as a waitress. I ordered a chicken sandwich and asked what their house dressing consisted of. She said “I don’t know but it’s really good.” Okay, great, but what is it. She didn’t bother to ask the chefs or her other colleagues. Granted, it’s not a huge deal but what if I had a serious food allergy? Professionalism was not there. Her friends must’ve been in the booth ahead of our table and I could see her flipping them off and messing around. Not really the time and place for that. The food wasn’t terrible but it surely wasn’t outstanding. If I could go back in time, I would’ve left before we ordered our food.
I absolutely love the food and service at this place. Everything is consistently delicious, and the service is always outstanding.
