Was User at Aglio E Olio a mag?
I got the carbonara today and its not bad. the pasta was a little over cooked for me (but I like it truly al dente and do not expect anyone but a proper restaurant to make it that way) and in my opinion it could have used a little extra sauce, but the flavors were there and delish! the roll that was given with it was toasted with garlic butter to top off a little extra tastiness. its a good sized portion for $10 I wi... What User dislikes about Aglio E Olio:
Struggling to be polite here because this was some of the worst Italian I’ve ever had. The penne with “sausage” was over cooked with little sauce and served with that fake Parmesan cheese you get in a can. They didn’t ask if I wanted it that way but just put it in top as if everyone enjoys that flavour. The sausage itself was strange, very dry and bitter, and the texture sort of chewy and crumbly. I'm trying to be polite, but this was some of the worst Italian food I've ever had. The penne with "sausage" was overcooked, had very little sauce, and was topped with that fake Parmesan cheese from a can without even asking if I wanted it. The sausage itself was strange—very dry, bitter, and had a chewy, crumbly texture. My brother ordered the meatballs, which he said tasted like something from Chef Boyardee. The noodles were so thin and mushy they resembled instant noodles more than pasta, and he ended up throwing them away. On top of that, the garlic bread wasn’t crispy and tasted like it had been sitting in a microwave for hours. I definitely won’t be coming back.
Disappointing doesn’t even begin to cover it. Their arrogance is unbelievable, and the food lacks any real quality. I will never dine there again.
I tried the carbonara at Aglio E Olio today, and it was quite good. The pasta was slightly overcooked for my taste—I prefer it truly al dente, but I understand not everyone does, especially outside of a dedicated Italian restaurant. I also felt it could have had a bit more sauce, but the flavors were rich and delicious. The roll served alongside was toasted with garlic butter, adding an extra tasty touch. For $10, the portion was generous. I look forward to returning to explore more of their menu.
