Was Grayson White at Cafe Sunset a mag?
This place has a homely and relaxing atmosphere. I usually go here to have my night cap. This time I had a full meal - boneless bangus with fried rice and salsa side dish plus a spicy dip. I will always go for ambience and feel-good food that I can identify with. View all feedback.
What Rogelio Dickens dislikes about Cafe Sunset:
The food is average. My husband ordered their seafood marinara, got a couple of ribs. Plus side of this place is it's quiet. The interior is full of cute decor. However, what disappointed me is that they don't issue a proper receipt even if we asked for one. No tin number on the so called receipt they gave us. View all feedback.
After church, we decided to try this nearby cafe that I found on Facebook, Cafe at Sunset. It's a neighborhood cafe on the 2nd floor (you have access to your own staircase from the parking lot) of the Rublou Marketplace in Brookside Hills, Cainta. FOOD We had the creamy pumpkin soup, creamy chicken adobo garlic noodles, sunset pork tonkatsu, soy tocino, and beef salpicao. Despite the small portions, the food was great and reasonably priced. I would love to come back to try their desserts.
I've been meaning to try Cafe at Sunset for months, since having seen especially its cute and mouthwatering mini cakes on their Facebook and IG posts. And now, finally I got to try it. Cafe at Sunset is located on the 2nd floor at Rublou Marketplace in Brookside subdivision. I was trying to figure out where exactly Rublou is. Turns out, there are actually *three* Rublou's in Cainta (or I guess maybe even more if go around the entire town) -- one in Greenfield subdivision, and another two on Ortigas Avenue extension. I was kind of lost, as a result. So when I finally found the correct Rublou Marketplace where Cafe at Sunset is located, I really did hope that it would be worth all that wandering which, quite unquestionably, made me famished hehehe. As I entered the building, I was disappointed a bit. Their cake display was empty. And except for a lone chocolate cake, I didn't see any more of their signature mini cakes. I specifically wanted to try their Ube Leche Flan cake (since trying Anghelica's Dessert's own version of it, it has been a favorite). There were other regular-sized cakes in the refrigerator though. What I had: ????Sunset Pork Tonkatsu (P145) ☆☆☆ ~ According to the menu, it is their "version of melts-in-your-mouth pork tonkatsu w/ teriyaki sauce." So naturally I got quite excited, as I love tonkatsu. When I finally got a bite of it, yeah, it was crunchy indeed, but not quite melts-in-your-mouth nor tender. I felt that it was a pre-made, frozen tonkatsu they used for this dish, and I kind of felt let down in the end. But I liked the tomato salsa (more of that, please!), it tasted refreshing as it should be. Considering the large portions, this was a bang for the buck indeed. ????Iced Hazelnut Latte (P120) ☆☆☆ ~ This was just OK, but fortunately it had strength so this was my kind of coffee. Some iced coffee drinks are just too sweet. ????Matcha Lava Cake (P110) ☆☆☆☆☆ ~This one was the redeemer. Soft, moist, saucy as a lava cake should be. And the balance between the matcha's bitterness and the cake's overall sweetness was just right. ❤Red Velvet Lava Cake (P110) ☆☆☆☆ ~ Actually, the Red Velvet and Matcha Lava Cake are some of the cafe's most recent creations. Maybe limited edition flavors just for the holidays (it's because they match the Christmas colors, green and red). I ordered this for a takeout. This one's a bit too sweet for me but the soft and moist texture is the same. I prefer the matcha one, though. There were a few customers by the time I dined there, so yeah it was really nice, hindi nakaka-stress hehehe. Add the loungey Christmas choons, it was definitely a place to chillax. I hope the next time I make a return to Cafe at Sunset they have all these mini-cakes. Maybe it wasn't really my day today hehehe. asecretfanfare.blogspot.com
I appreciate your efforts in putting up Halloween decorations this month. ???? Definitely not my last visit as I have to try their other bestsellers.
I'd definitely go back to this place! Everytime I pass by the area, I always see this cafe and I always look forward to trying it. Last week, my family and I decided to have a light dinner here. The place was chill and quiet although it wasn't cold enough even if it's already night and raining. We tried their sandwiches, grilled tuna and grilled ham and cheese. The serving surprised me when it came because I honestly didn't expect much. The sandwiches came with a little colselaw, fries, and dip. We also ordered pumpkin soup with bacon bits. It was good but I think it's a little bit creamy. The bacon didn't come in bits but in chunks and strips! - this was far beyond my expectation. We also tried their pasta salad in roasted sesame dressing (forgot what it's called) and it's good! It was packed with fruits and veggies and the serving was generous enough. Lastly, I tried their iced Americano while my sister had it hot. I always go for black especially when trying a coffee in a new cafe. The coffee was strong enough and didn't have any aftertaste nor sourness both in hot and cold. For its price, I didn't expect it to taste that good, I liked it. Service was also good and fast.
