What Nate B dislikes about Basecamp:
Called in ahead of time to order a brisket breakfast burrito to take to work. Took my phone number and name and told me 15 min. I arrive 15 min later to have them tell me whoops we forgot there's no brisket.. okay just give me whatever please. 5 min later someone comes out to tell me they're putting tri tip in my burrito, sounds good I gotta go I'm late... get my giant paper bag, with zero utensils for the hash brown... I came across some positive reviews and anticipated a great atmosphere, but unfortunately, we were disappointed. While we wanted to enjoy our experience, the service was just average, and the food was significantly overpriced for what we received. I ordered the lavender waffle, which turned out to be quite small—a letdown considering the price. The taste was fine, but the portion was tiny for the cost. I also tried the coffee, and it was awful—super bitter and not enjoyable at all, possibly one of the worst cups I've ever had. My friend opted for a cilantro bowl, which was mainly rice, with very few vegetables and meat, which was not what we expected. It was also expensive for what it offered. The atmosphere was nice, but everything else fell short. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place.
I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, but it turned out to be a delightful surprise. I really enjoyed their seasonal lemonades—the peach flavor was reminiscent of fuzzy peaches! Just a heads up, the food does take a bit of time to arrive, so be prepared for a wait. I ordered the quinoa Benedict, but unfortunately, my eggs were quite well-cooked instead of the runny poached ones I was expecting. I was too hungry to wait, so I just ate it as it was. My husband had the brisket breakfast burrito, and he absolutely loved it.
Basecamp never disappoints! We’ve had great coffee, breakfast, and lunch! Love their breakfast burrito. Dog friendly, family friendly with lots of outdoor seating to enjoy. This is a neighborhood gem.
