we enjoyed our first visit here. very nice furnishings. parking can be difficult. we came on Saturday in february and it was a slower night. we were immediately greeted by the hostess who offered to take our weights. our server dillon was friendly and answered my asking about the drinks and food menus. we had the ceviche, rindfleisch wellington, hot German potato salad and the bark on wake-noveau. all were very good.... I really wanted to love this place. But it feel short. Its beautiful and the decorations are warm and inviting. The staff is very nice. But cocktails at the bar were over priced. It took over 20 mins for a waitress to come to our table after we were seated. Hostess did apologize and was very sorry about that. I had the 4 oz filet, that was more like a 2oz filet. We were pleased that they allowed us to arrive early, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, our server was quite disappointing. It took us 49 minutes to receive our soups and salads, and they arrived cold. We noticed that other servers were attentive to their tables, but ours seemed impossible to locate. We've dined here before and had a great experience, so this was unexpected. Perhaps our server was just having a bad day, but it did dampen our enjoyment a bit.
I really enjoyed my short rib dinner with potatoes; it was fantastic. The eckls camp was great as well, and the shrimp soup with corn was delicious. However, my wife was a bit disappointed with her filet Wellington; it was too salty, and the puff pastry was burnt. On the bright side, the service was excellent!
Service was poor. the waitress has not refilled water or taken away dirty appetizers. our steaks were over cooked, not as we ordered. 1 steak was smaller than the other 2. all steaks were creepy. our drinks were good, but no glass for the heineken. poor service. the ordered German potato salad, as neither the menu nor the waitress showed that French pommes came with the steak. the French wobbly soup and bananenpfeffer were pretty good. no offers from coffee or dessert. bad service. I do not come back or recommend this restaurant because of bad service and quality of eating. we have been looking forward to a good meal and that has not happened.

We thought the food was of high quality but clearly not worth the price charged for salad and steaks. Bread offered with dinner was low image rolls only.
