We tried Bistro Lanka for dinner and really enjoyed the food. We ordered fried mushrooms as a starter, combo plate (kottu fried rice), kottu biryani, and the coconut–mango ice cream for dessert. Everything was tasty and well-prepared, but the highlight for me was definitely the coconut sambol sauce—it was my first time trying it and it really stood out. 20 degrees outside and we were told by the rude staff member that “they don’t serve outside after 7pm because it’s too cold” only to found out that he hates dogs and he couldn’t stand the idea that people would come out and have dinner while walking the dog. In his view “I’d kill them all, can’t stand them but leave the mutt at home if you want to eat!”.
