Was Emily Batista at Swallow Cafe a mag?
This place serves some of the best coffee when I’m getting off the Morgan L and in a hurry. The punch card system really kept me coming back when I was working nearby. The cream cheese bagel is generous, though a bit pricey—but hey, it’s New York! I still drop by occasionally for a latte, and I appreciate that they’ve never burnt the milk in my drinks, which is a big plus for me. View all feedback.
What Bryan Paternoster dislikes about Swallow Cafe:
Just an honest rating. Bushwick staple for a long time, but the staff is always stressed out of their mind regardless of the number of people there. I’d imagine this is a management issue and not a staff issue since this has spanned generations. Coffee is mid. Sey is literally half a block away. View all feedback.
Love the vibe and selections: great service, fantastic coffee and kickass bagels
Pros: The music is QUIET and not top 40 songs. Every person there is quietly working on their laptop. I feel like it’s a place I can actually concentrate and get work done. The cold brew is very good. Coffee in general is good. There are outlets. Prices are as they say they are on the menu board with tax included. Cons: By the time I get there in the afternoon they have minimal pastries or bagels left. They have a bathroom but I have to say it’s pretty gross.
I absolutely adore this coffee shop. I've been visiting for years, and it always has a wonderful atmosphere. The owner is very friendly, and the staff is approachable and welcoming. Paying for my coffee in cash is never an issue since there’s an ATM available. Overall, it's a fantastic place for coffee!
I love this place! It's cute and eclectic and a lot of regulars come by which adds to the friendly and cozy atmosphere.
I initially visited this place mainly to use the restroom. Unfortunately, it was in terrible condition—there was brown gunk dripping from the hand dryer onto the floor, and the whole area had a foul odor, with everything feeling damp. After that unpleasant experience, I decided to get in line to buy something. However, the cashier was busy chatting with the customer in front of me about their mutual friends on Instagram. I eventually figured out what I wanted but realized they only accepted cash. I thought about asking if there was an ATM nearby, but the conversation continued to drag on, so I ended up leaving. While the main coffee shop area looked beautiful and smelled wonderful, I wouldn't consider returning based on this experience.
