absolutely delicious afternoon cream tea. tasty crustless filled sandwiches, a wonderful chocolate creamy caramel pots, skorones jam and dipped cream and a selection of delicious cakes and baked too good to be true! faultless and we will return soon. one of our group. to keep clear of the sweet things, but had a super boiled bream with prawns and mass of vegetables. a visit is a must! definitiw recommended! This used to be an excellent place for Sunday Lunch. Sadly it is no longer. The food was lacking in taste and the sprouts were cooked so much they were mushy( this might be to help the very elderly clientele digest them” The Yorkshire puddings...looked like mass produced ones rather than the home made ones that this place used to serve. The ambiance at the restaurant was very cozy and welcoming. I especially enjoyed the decor.
The restaurant serves delicious, home-cooked meals in generous portions. It had been a long time since I last visited, but everything was just as delicious as I remembered.
This restaurant serves a fantastic Sunday roast that tastes just like home-cooked meals. The portions are generous and the service is friendly. Don't forget to save room for their huge and delicious puddings. Overall, it is great value for money.
Food was extremely disappointing considering what I'd heard about the place. They didn't have an alcohol license which they didn't warn us about when I phoned to book the table. Pricey for what it was. I can cook a better roast.
Small restaurant but limited due to the history of the building, but 100% worth a visit. No alcohol licence but you can take your own drinks, small charge added to bill.
