Enjoyed a special Melbourne Cup Luncheon at Chevals Restaurant at the Newcastle Jockey Club with a group of friends. We had a three course set menu serviced alternate drop, quality food and all meals were all cooked to perfection and enjoyed by all at the table. Delicious meals served and cleared with expertise by friendly staff. Definitely hope to return!
Owner and ATC member. Grilled on dress code at entry for 20 mins then 2 of us seated fine dining set price ,staff good and friendly bit slow.I had Barra and friend had steak .Barra DREADFUL part frozen uncooked inedible and bal ordinary same with steak entrees and deserts very plain and tasteless.Never again
We've been working here for a Christmas party, never will go back. had grilled the same problem as another reviewer over the dress code, despite neat and neat. Moreover, the atmosphere was terrible, as there were proclamations close to constant loud speakers who killed every conversation. no good day.
Had a great day at the races with friends, eating and service was excellent, drinks cheap, the investment worth for a fun day out.
The owners and staff at this restaurant were very particular about the dress code upon entering, which took up 20 minutes of our time. Once seated in the fine dining room, the set price was fair and the service was friendly, though a bit slow. Unfortunately, my barramundi and my friend's steak were disappointing. The barramundi was partially frozen and undercooked, while the steak was bland and unappetizing. The entrees were dull and lacked flavor. Overall, we were not impressed and would not return to this restaurant.
