What J C dislikes about Gersushi:
I ordered a $51 platter and was quite disappointed. The rice had a stale taste, as if it had been sitting out for a day or two. The fish was extremely dry, and the flavors didn't work well together at all. They could greatly benefit from using fresh, well-marinated rice. I can't recommend this place. View all feedback.
I had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. The sushi was delicious—very fresh and flavorful. The service was excellent as well. Overall, everything was top-notch. I highly recommend it!
Absolutely delicious! I visited close to closing time, but the staff were still very friendly. There was no fishy odor from the salmon, which is a concern I’ve encountered at other places. This is my favorite spot on the Upper West Side, and I will definitely return. Highly recommend!
For a $51 platter: The rice tastes like a day or two old. Fishes are so dry. They don’t go along at all. They can do much better by even starting to make fresh and well marinated rice. Not recommendable.
The rice on 2 out of the 3 rolls was hard and almost too chewy to eat. The rolls were all smushed together to fit in one to-go box, which was too small, making all the pieces stick together and then fell a part when I tried to eat one. I also asked for nowasabi and they added wasabi. It was all very disappointing. I wouldn’t order from them again.
Wonderful place with fantastic people. The food was fresh and delicious. I'll definitely be returning!
