Catalyst Cafe - Brisbane
Catalyst Cafe
Menu
Here you will find the menu of Catalyst Cafe in Brisbane. At the moment, there are 6 menus and drinks on the list.
Catalyst Cafe started off strong a few years ago, serving excellent coffee and above-average food. However, over time, the quality of their coffee and service declined. Despite this, the pulled pork sandwich at the Translational Research Institute was a standout. While the service was slow, daily specials and rotating curries kept the menu interesting. For those looking for coffee, Pacemaker is recommended. Additionally, a small hole-in-the-wall coffee shop near the workstation, while consistently busy during lunchtime, did not impress with its coffee or pastries. On the other hand, customers raved about the great coffee and awesome meals at another cafe, praising the quality, portion sizes, and overall dining experience. Overall, with mixed reviews, patrons may want to explore their options to find the best fit for their preferences.

What Coby White dislikes about Catalyst Cafe:
The new work favourite. Absolutely amazing. Consistently unburnt, well rounded, fragrant and silky smooth coffee. I've lost count of the number of times I've been here with my work mates for a quick break. Their meals are very reasonably priced around $9-12 a main. If you're around the Princess Alexandra Hospital and looking for a decent feed within walking distance, this is the place to go EDIT: Yeahhhh, I went back... View all feedback.
When Catalyst Cafe first opened up a few years ago they served a good cup of coffee and above average food. Over time, the quality of their coffee and their service has deteriorated. I was back at the Translational Research Institute for a lunch meeting and enjoyed the Pulled Pork Sandwich. The pork was tender and overall the sandwich was pretty good - 3.5. The service was slow, but I was advised by my counterpart at TRI that that is quite normal. Daily specials and rotating curries help to keep the menu interesting. I have no problem meeting here for lunch, but if it is coffee that you seek you should walk the two minutes over to Pacemaker.
Ridiculously bad service. They only survive because there is no competition! I rarely go there and every time without fail they forget my order after waiting 20 minutes or more for coffee and realise that they have forgotten the piece of toast you ordered. Coffee is ordinary too.
My colleague and I have been treated in an appeal by the cafe manager this week. we had bought our drinks and just was put on a table when the manager left and unleashed this tirade over the check in. When he asked us, I apologized and quickly took my phone to check. he, whether he is aware of my actions or simply hasn't looked after us, has kept us calm. he ran over how the security observed our movement and that he came in difficult ways with the police over covid check-ins?! he said in this condesctive way: you young are going out, you should know that you are supposed to check. he goes: I don't want to be an ark*le...read more
The caffe is close to my workstation. it is always busy daily, especially during the lunchtime. Despite the low rating, I decided to try it. not for his coffee, as my friends do not recommend it. I had choc croissant that didn't even impress me. I prefer to sell it in the other caffe. the personal was also not as friendly as one in the other caffe. not as good experience.
