Description

Set inside Cedar Breaks Lodge in Brian Head, this lodge-style eatery divides diners: generous portions and standout dishes (bison burger, steak, hearty fish-and-chips, fresh pasta) and a friendly bar staff contrast with inconsistent service, wrong orders, unexplained takeout gratuities, and rude servers. Limited hours, no reservations, spotty menu updates and a thin red-wine list frustrate visitors. Good for hotel guests and hearty appetites, but bring patience—service and reliability can vary widely.

The restaurant was extremely pricey and lacked any real ambiance. When we visited for dinner in October 2022, my wife and I were the only patrons, aside from an elderly couple. It felt like we were dining in a mausoleum. To make matters worse, the chef didn’t even take the time to check in with us about our meal.

They no longer provide any vegan options aside from salad. It seems that they previously had some nice selections, but that's no longer the case. I'm very disappointed.

The experience was disappointing. Although there aren't many options in the area, this restaurant was only mediocre at best. The food resembled basic bar fare but came at a premium price. While the staff was friendly, they were not very accommodating, especially for a large group in an otherwise empty restaurant.

Stewart is an excellent bartender, and they offer rotating beer specials for just $3.

The service was attentive at first, but by the end of our meal, we found ourselves walking to the bar to ask for our check and a to-go box because our server seemed overwhelmed and her attitude had soured. When we finally received our box, it was tossed at us, and we had to ask for a pen to sign the check, which she reluctantly provided after a polite request. We only saw our server twice: once to take our drink and food orders, and again to deliver our meals. I really want to like this place, but they need to improve their service. As a result, we left a 10% tip instead of the usual 20%, primarily due to the long wait and the server's less-than-friendly demeanor at the end.
