This place just isn't consistent, which is too bad because the first couple times I visited in 2016 I had some really good food here. Nowadays they never seem to get my order right even though I never order anything special that isn't on the menu. I’ve only eaten here twice, but the frozen margarita is a must-try! The staff is always friendly, and the food is excellent.
I absolutely love Juanitas! It serves the best authentic Mexican food in town. We were taken care of by the sweetest grandmother figure, which made our experience even more special. The prices are fantastic, and the food is delicious. It felt just like visiting an aunt's house. We will definitely be coming back!
After reading other reviews, I have to say that my experience at this restaurant felt inconsistent. While some diners rave about the salsa, our first visit tonight left us disappointed; the salsa tasted almost like marinara. The food was decent, but we've definitely had better authentic Mexican cuisine in Bloomington. Additionally, our server seemed unhappy when we asked for a table for two just two hours before closing, and they were inattentive to our needs throughout our time there. I wanted to enjoy this place more, and perhaps a second visit would provide a different experience, but I'm uncertain if we'll return.
I visited this restaurant on April 24, 2024, with my girlfriend and her younger daughter, who attends Indiana University. I can confidently say this is the best Mexican food I've had in quite a while. Even the chips that came with the salsa were the most flavorful I've ever enjoyed. The interior and exterior of the restaurant are really attractive, and there's plenty of parking available. It features two levels of dining and two separate outdoor dining areas. The place was impeccably clean, and the staff was friendly, professional, and attentive. We will definitely be returning. Thank you!
