Feedback
Lefty's in Blacksburg presents a mixed dining experience, where the quality of food often shines amid service inconsistencies and cleanliness concerns. While many diners rave about standout dishes like the black bean burger, mango chicken sandwich, and emerald kale salad, others report issues such as long wait times, unclean facilities, and inattentive service. Positive reviews highlight the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff, though several patrons express disappointment with certain menu items and overall service quality. Ultimately, Lefty's may appeal to those seeking a casual meal, but diners should prepare for potential challenges in both service and ambiance.
We went for dinner to Lefty's last month. I thought all was well until I got my Visa bill this week, and see they changed my bill total behind my back and added another two dollars to what I authorized. I still have my receipt. Lowdown! And this yelp is difficult to understand how to rate the stars step. Never used Yelp to leave a review before. I'm 61.
Service was excellent, the food exceeded our expectations. We had a great time. Can't wait to go back
As usual, Lefty's did not disappoint. Took some out of town friends there for dinner after the Hokie men's basketball game. They had never been there for dinner before. Shrimp Grits, Lamb chops and Short Rib Tacos all were amazing. Had a cranberry mojito to boot which did not disappoint!
I ordered the Chef’s special bone-in pork chop with apple-walnut chutney, while my husband had the steak. Both dishes were delicious and cooked to perfection. I do have a small critique: while the chutney that accompanied the pork chop was tasty, it would have been even better with fresh apples or an apple slaw, as the dish could have used a bit of acidity. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be returning!
We were quite disappointed with our experience. The service was lacking; our server didn't provide any helpful suggestions when we asked for recommendations. He mentioned he liked the gnocchi because it was soft and that all the entrees were good, but I think he could use a bit more training. When I requested a takeout box, I had to remind him after 15 minutes because he forgot. Honestly, I asked for the box almost out of habit, but as you can see from the pictures, my avocado was brown in some spots on my sandwich. My milk stout was enjoyable, but that's solely thanks to Duck Rabbit. Overall, I don’t think we’ll be returning anytime soon—maybe just for a drink. The prices were on the higher side, likely due to the beer selection.
