Evan's Fish Chips - Blackpool
Evan's Fish Chips
Description
Dining at this local fish and chip restaurant proves to be a varied experience, with opinions swinging between delight and disappointment. While some patrons rave about the fresh, flaky fish and golden chips, expertly prepared with a crisp batter, others recount issues like greasy food and inattentive service. This inconsistency extends to the staff dynamics, with some front-of-house members praised for their friendliness, while others faced criticism for their lackluster approach. Despite these fluctuations, the restaurant remains popular, suggesting that with improved service and consistency, it could elevate its standing in the competitive fish and chip scene.

Love it! Finally a decent chippy in walking distance, I've had it for tea 2 nights in a row Really friendly staff, will definitely be back again
Had my winning free fish and chips, and it was very good, great little chippy for lea, Thanks guys x
It varies, sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not good, dont know why. So we go in hope, queueing can be entertaining as there's sometimes more batter on the staff than the fish, and that's saying something!
The Fish and Chips at this restaurant were average, and I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again. The main issue was the poor service, particularly from the older lady who seemed unfriendly and unhelpful. I asked for my sauces to be kept separate, but the older lady ended up pouring gravy on one of my dishes. It's important to carefully review the menu before ordering, as the staff may not point out any special instructions. Additionally, I noticed that the steak pudding I ordered was not what I expected, and the handling of the food by the older lady was concerning. This restaurant may not be the most vegetarian-friendly option. Despite these issues, the business seems to be thriving, but I believe they could benefit from putting in more effort to provide better customer service. If you're looking for a good chippy with fresh fish, I would recommend visiting Yorkshire Fisheries in Blackpool instead.
This is by far Thee best Fish and Chip shop in Preston (may I say in Lancashire) forget travelling to Blackpool for the “seaside flavour” luckily Evans is on our doorstep. Delicious fresh white flaky haddock, light flavourful crispy batter, scrumptious golden chips, all piping hot (every single time) The cod bites are just yummy, they also do scraps too. Bonus!! Marie is an absolute credit to Evans, always smiling, friendly with every customer, (and can wrap in paper too) I don’t often review but Credit where Credit is due. You always know when it’s a quality chippy, there’s always a queue and you’re not even waiting long, all the girls working there, work their socks off, real grafters. They also offer a wide range of specials, children’s meals, catering for everyone, it’s spotless inside, the food is always made to order so it’s always piping hot, I’ve also never seen so many choices of curry sauces too. Thank you everyone at Evans. =o)
