East 40 Food Drink is a cozy restaurant with a unique decor that includes antiques, pictures, fireplaces, and collectibles from Europe and the United States. The bar has been sourced from an old saloon in Montana, the chandelier from Spain, and the stained glass windows from an old Methodist Church in Bismarck. Originally opened in 1975 by Ed and Joan Conlin, the fine dining tradition has been carried on by Caspar and Matina Borggreve since 1979, making it Bismarck's premier restaurant. Today, Ed and Joan Conlin still own and operate the East 40 Food Drink.
