Sensationeller preisgünstiger mittagstisch, an dieser Stelle nicht zu toppen, einfach supergut, netter und prompter vertrauter service
Man kann hier draußen sitzen und das Treiben auf der Oranienburger Straße studieren. das ist aber leider auch so ziemlich alles. Wenn der Service dann man kommt, kann man auch etwas bestellen. Von den Gerichten sollte man aber Abstand nehmen. Hier kochen und bedienen wohl Studenten.
In one of those serendipitous moments that make for great holidays, I came across the Oranium cafe while following my nose to check out an interestingly looking building I saw from a distance. That building turned out to be the Neue Synagogue, which is one of the most significant places of interest in Berlin, if not in Europe for its role as a center of Liberal Judaism and during Kristallnacht program of the Nazis in 1938. After visiting the current Center, I needed a place to stop and gather my thoughts and gain some sustenance for the rest of the touring day. And that's when I discovered the Oranium. Stepping through the heavy black-out curtains in the door called to mind stepping back in history, which is enhanced by the design of the place from the magnificent bar to tasteful Eastern European decor. Plus, the food is diversified, tasty, well-presented and very economical. Well worth a stop!

The food was good (granted, all I had was a pasta dish so not sure how more complicated dishes are) and cocktails were fine but I waited for so long once I was done eating to get my dishes taken and check given even though the restaurant was completely empty and waiters were standing around. They also asked for me to pay in cash which is odd for such a big and touristy restaurant. Overall pretty disappointed with service but if you’re okay sitting around for a while and are in the area, the food/prices are decent. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €20–30 Food: 4 Service: 2
