A solid boba spot! We made a stop here for some boba while in Portland area. The shop is located in a small plaza with some parking. The shop itself is small but has a cozy charm. I got the Thai Milk Tea and it was delicious, with the classic Thai tea flavor. The cup design is unique and made for a great portion. If you're making a stop in Portland and want boba, give this place a try!
Idk y'all, Bubble N Tea's tea was not it for me. I come from a more traditional Taiwanese-style boba bish preference palette, so I'll start there. The Bubble N Tea simple boba milk tea tasted so...synthetic. Like I couldn't even tell you what milk tea I drank because it didn't taste like any black tea I know. The boba was not QQ, on the harder side of textures, and yes their cup sizes are on the pint-y side reminiscent of Bay Area's Purple Kow or for those who have been to Southern California's Half and Half. That's pretty much all they've got going for them, you'll have a drink to chew on for the next half an hour, but size isn't everything. They also have other options from matcha drinks to other flavors like Cocoa Mint and Coconut, and that kind of tells me that this spot is catered to a less traditional palette. Totally cool, given the demographics in Portland, so I understand. But if the standard boba milk tea is unimpressive, I gotta say there's no coming back from that. Service is pretty much when you pick up your order, as all of the drink interaction is at the self-service kiosks. Parking is in a tight little plaza, and there is very limited seating inside, like you literally have to cram alongside a wall and it's not a great spot for larger parties. I know there aren't many boba spots in the Portland area, but I think Bubble N Tea is a pass for moi. Clearly they have their fans, and go forth, just not for this gal.
There was no line when we went Friday, around lunch time. We ordered the Coconut Smoothie with boba, and the Thai Tea on ice with boba. The Coconut Smoothie tasted like coconut cream with bits of coconut meat, and the boba tasted like honey instead of brown sugar. The Thai Tea was great, and both drinks were served in 24 oz. chubby cups instead of your usual tall skinny cups. Our experience, for a boba shop, Bubble N Tea has the best customer service, and the best non powdered Coconut Smoothie and Thai Tea!
Best bubble tea I’ve had. Great service and fun seasonal flavors. Real tea and delicious boba. I go way too often.
