The Hessenklause has come well into the years and is therefore more rustic. However, I personally do not feel that bad. It is a good bourgeois German cuisine. Generally, there are large portions. The price also fits. I'm just missing the sophistication, a little more courage in the seasoning. Everyone has their own opinion on this. Hier gibt es einwirklich gute traditionelle Küche mit hessischer Ausprägung. Die Küche muss allerdings sehr klein sein, denn -mehrfach erlebt- die Wartezeit auf die Speisen ist unangemessen lang . Wer dies in Kauf nehmen will kann ein Besuch sehr empfohlen werden. Auch sind die Portionen gross und sehr preiswert.
Das Gasthaus ist rustikal und der Service freundlich und kompetent! Unbedingt einmal im Oktober reinschauen, dann gibt es geniale Haxen!
Die Hessenklause wird von einer eigenen Metzgerei beliefert, was sehr zur Qualität der Speisen beiträgt. So werden nordhessische Spezialitäten wie 'Weckewerk' und 'Alte Wurst' und andere Hausmannskost. angeboten. In der familiär geführten Gaststätte gibt es einen Nebenraum. In der warmen Jahreszeit kann man das Angebot auch vor der Tür wahrnehmen.
We went there for dinner with a larger group. Lovely atmosphere, super friendly service. Typical German cuisine with regional specialties. The food took a little while to arrive at the table, but it was hot, plentiful, and absolutely delicious. I'd gladly come back if I'm ever in the area again.
