Feedback
At this charming pub, guests enjoy a lively atmosphere complemented by friendly and attentive staff. While the food is generally well-prepared, some patrons feel the portions could be more generous, particularly considering the prices, which vary significantly from nearby locations. Although the venue is dog-friendly, some diners may find this less appealing when dining. Notably, the pub caters well to families and sports enthusiasts, with a welcoming environment and a good selection of ales. Improved maintenance in areas like the toilets and outdoor garden could enhance the overall experience. However, visitors often leave with a desire to return.
The dining experience was wonderful, with fast and friendly service. Graham, our server, was extremely attentive and delightful. We will definitely be coming back.
Meal was fine but the cost of a pint of IPA was £4.95 when the same pint a few miles away in Wickford, in the same chain, is £3.12. Seems extortionate considering the pubs are very similar. Also don’t appreciate dogs being allowed in the restaurant when you’re eating.
Visited this restaurant to catch up with family, but unfortunately, we regretted not checking beforehand as there was a football game on. The pub was extremely busy and noisy. When I ordered a mocktail at the bar, I was disappointed to find that it was basically just fizzy pop with no umbrella or garnish. At around £4, I wish I had just ordered a lemonade instead. There were five of us, and while the food was slow to arrive at the table, the plates were warm and the food was okay for pub grub. The burgers were particularly good, but the portions were not very big. The worst part of the pub, in my opinion, was the state of the toilets. The locks on the doors were broken and the toilet roll dispensers were broken as well. I couldn't understand why they had a sign up saying that the toilets were checked regularly. The garden area was also scruffy. A little bit of care and attention would make this a much nicer pub.
