Seems extortionate consideri... read more Meal was fine but the cost of a pint of IPA was £4.95 when the same pint a few miles away in Wickford, in the same chain, is £3.12. Seems extortionate considering the pubs are very similar. Also don’t appreciate dogs being allowed in the restaurant when you’re eating.

The pub was extremely... read more Visited this restaurant to catch up with family, but unfortunately, we regretted not checking beforehand as there was a football game on. The pub was extremely busy and noisy. When I ordered a mocktail at the bar, I was disappointed to find that it was basically just fizzy pop with no umbrella or garnish. At around £4, I wish I had just ordered a lemonade instead. There were five of us, and while the food was slow to arrive at the table, the plates were warm and the food was okay for pub grub. The burgers were particularly good, but the portions were not very big. The worst part of the pub, in my opinion, was the state of the toilets. The locks on the doors were broken and the toilet roll dispensers were broken as well. I couldn't understand why they had a sign up saying that the toilets were checked regularly. The garden area was also scruffy. A little bit of care and attention would make this a much nicer pub.

We initially just came in for a drink, but ended up ordering food because the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked so appetizing. The staff, especially Graham, took great care of us. The signature burger was huge and delicious, and the sirloin steak was cooked perfectly and paired wonderfully with the beef dripping and merlot sauce. We enjoyed our meal with refreshing ciders on the patio while our child played in the playground. We had a fantastic afternoon thanks to the attentive team. Overall, we were very impressed.
