What Bentcliff dislikes about Vin Optimum:
Very cold atmosphere in the bar, and the owner was most unfriendly, bordering on unpleasant. He asked us 3 times if we wanted water with our wine. Although this seemed a strange question, we finally said perhaps just a glass of tapwater. We were unpleasantly surprised to find that we were charged SFR 3. for a very small jug of water. We had a wonderful dinner. The starter and the main course were excellent and the wine was, as one would expect at a wine house, great. The service by Myrjam Moriello and the staff was very friendly. We had a table in the back, with a view on the Rhine. We will definitely be back!

Just walked and in and found a table for 2. Excellent service and great wine. Ordered some olives with the wine which was great. A little expensive, but what isn't in Basel. Loved this place and would go back. They do wine pairing dinners once a month from talking with the owner. Great place to replace with great people.
