Nestled in West Phoenix’s industrial stretch, this small, gaming-themed craft brewery pairs inventive house-brewed beers with retro Nintendo decor and tabletop games. Fans praise creative saisons and seasonal imperial stouts, lively regulars, and fun merchandise, though some beers skew IPA-heavy and select items (like a Zelda growler) are loyalty-only. The vibe is casual and inviting for gamers and beer enthusiasts, but limited walkability, early closing hours, occasional service complaints and restricted brewery access temper an otherwise delightful, quirky destination.
If you're a fan of excellent craft beer and classic video games, then you won't want to miss 8-Bit Aleworks! They now offer a very limited food menu, but you're still welcome to bring your own outside food. Come and enjoy the best of both worlds!
This is a bit out of the way in the middle of nowhere but man is it good beer. The atmosphere is so laid back. The owners are super awesome. They encourage you to bring your own eats in and they even keep paper plates and napkins for the customers. They have a bunch of board games and some old school consoles you can play. I highly recommend going at least once! They sell growlers of their beer and they are very proud of their recipes! The white mage is probably my favorite from their non rotating beers.
The most chill place to grab a beer and relax after a stressful day at work. Ryan and the team create the most magical and delicious brews. What I love is their creativity of utilizing video game puns to name their beers. It helps breed relatabilityand makes the beer even more special to drink. I?m choose the Black Mage whenever I play games and they have a Black Mage beerthat is literally my persona in a pint. There?s video games and board/card games to play. Also they hose super cool eventsthroughout the year and on holidays. This place?s awesome level is over 9000!!!
Small and inviting Craft Brewery. Selections are unusual and very well produced. Our favorite was the Rice Climber , inspired by a Rice Crispe Treat. Yeah, a bit weird but enjoyable. The vibe is casual and friendly. Plenty of games and activities tokeep your mind occupied. Overall a great experience!
The place is packed to the top with good ole NES/SNES nostalgia. Arcades, game stations, 8-bit decor, etc. Came late night to pick up some beers before driving back to LA. Josh helped us with our orders and he was amazing and helpful. Gaverecommendations on beers and information on selection. Shame we didn't have time to drink in and enjoy the atmosphere but nexttime for sure! Only tried white mage so far and I'm impressed by the unique flavor it packed.
