Was AnnaMcCulloch at Project Pollo a mag?
The atmosphere is really relaxed, and they have a rotating menu with plenty of fully vegan choices. I particularly love their milkshakes and the delicious vegan whipped cream! View all feedback.
What Dane S dislikes about Project Pollo:
Micro Chicken. Wish I had taken an image. I ordered the chicken strip/tender combo $12.95) . It supposedly came with 3 chicken strips, fries, a super small container of slaw, Bird Sauce, and Texas Toast. The toast and fries were pretty good. The slaw was nothing special to brag about. Now to the chicken. It was 3 pieces that approximately measured 1/2 x 1 1/4 x 2 1/4 . These 3 pieces of chicken combined would barely equal a normal chicken strip at any other restaurant in the Austin area. Very thin crust with no distinct spice or flavor. The Bird Sauce made the chicken ok. Everyone else at the table 8 of us) had various chicken sandwiches that were again half the normal size. No one was impressed.Project Chicken need to go back to the drawing board.
I tried the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, and my vegan friend introduced me to it. I honestly couldn’t even tell it was vegan! I highly, highly recommend it!
Incredible service and food! Angie the GM was so informative and kind. It was my first time here and now this is my favorite place they were so welcoming! They told me about everything on the menu and helped me make a great decision! Honestly best vegan food I’ve ever had in my life ?? shout out to Angie and Jose at this location for taking such good care of me! I got the chicken Caesar wrap with tots, and a strawberry milkshake, and all of it was to die for!
Now, about the food—absolutely fantastic! The cashier, who also cooked, was incredibly friendly. When we inquired about the party melt, he mentioned that they no longer offer it, but he kindly offered to turn one of the burgers from the menu into a patty melt for us. It was outstanding! Huge props to him for accommodating our request. We also noticed he packed our fries generously, as there were plenty at the bottom of the bag. Who doesn’t love extra fries? The delicious vegan comfort food is reasonably priced, especially in this economy, and even my non-vegan husband enjoys this place. Two thumbs up!
