Nestled in a cozy corner of the city, Monkey Nest Coffee offers a delightful blend of specialty coffees and freshly made pastries, though experiences may vary. While the ambiance is generally inviting, some have noted a quieter atmosphere due to low music volume. The staff shines with friendliness and efficient service, charismatically guiding patrons through a tantalizing menu featuring standout items like the Nutty Irishman and a range of delicious sandwiches and pastries. With ample parking and inviting seating, it serves as a solid spot for casual meetings or quick coffee breaks, though occasional lapses in food quality may occur. Overall, it remains a cherished local favorite.

I absolutely adore this restaurant! They serve amazing coffees, muffins, cakes, and sandwiches. I've tried the Thai iced tea, cappuccino, macchiato, banana muffins, chocolate cake, and the green goddess sandwich, and they have all been consistently delicious and of high quality. View all feedback.
What Liz P dislikes about Monkey Nest:
Stopped here for a quick cup of coffee. Nice place coffee and drinks were good. The pastries were okay they were a little dry. Overall it was good. I’d go back. View all feedback.
The reviews are a mixed bag here. The person who took my order was friendly, but unfortunately forgot to bring out our food promptly. When it finally arrived, it was lukewarm and soggy. The egg quiche lacked flavor. The atmosphere was awkwardly quiet due to the absence of music. When I inquired about playing some music, the staff informed me that there was already music playing, albeit at a low volume, but it was only audible in the kitchen/prep area and not in the cafe itself. Overall, the experience fell short with poor customer service and a lackluster atmosphere. It's a shame because the cafe used to be much better before Covid.
I am truly sorry, but the name "Monkey Nest" is a deterrent for me and prevents me from wanting to visit. The imagery it evokes is not appealing to me.
We made a reservation at The Nest at Monkey Nest Coffee for our work event this morning. Alex assisted me in coordinating the entire event and ensured that everything we discussed was executed. The Nutty Irishman was extremely tasty! We also tried a selection of their breakfast options, all of which were fresh and homemade. The meeting room was ideal for our group of 20 people and the ambiance was welcoming. Thank you for all your help!
Been coming here for over ten years so here is what you need to know: Clean restrooms for both men and women with plenty of outlets and free wifi, meeting room, seating, and comfy sofas. Also calming Middle Eastern sofi relaxed kind of music all day with no echoing of people talking like some places so great place to come finish work and go. Does even have a fireplace durong the winter although I have never seen them use it! Also lots of paintings and unique memories get out up here! Now for why no five stars from me: Customer service has been hit or miss over the years and almost different people every time I come here over the last ten years. Most have been just chill and neutral, hard to have any conversations with, and always seem cold or not to care. Food sandwiches, teas, and smoothies I will take a pass on, not the worst but definitely not worth the money I have paid On the other hand the Monkey original acai bowl and coffee are legit, not a fan of the creamers or milk they use here so stick straight to black. I try to order each time I come here. Also parking just plain sucks and is hit or miss here and literally nearly wrecked my vehicle with pot holes on t he entrance coming in or nearly getting hit by the traffic from Papa John's pizza next door so be warned and careful getting in and out of here on north oumd lane of North Lamar! :p P.s. They also have random board games, a printer you can use, yes a printer you can pay to use!
This is a great coffee shop for day to day remote work. I came around 5pm and it was quiet and had plenty of seating. I ordered the hibiscus tea and was happy with it after adding a little sweetener haha.
