5 of us had lunch just after new year. My soup (tomato, basil and pepper) was excellent as was the eggs benedict, pancakes and macaroni cheese chosen by the rest of the family. My sister had the scrambled tofu which she thought was tasty but a little dry. All things considered, we liked this little cafe and judging by the number of other diners, so do many others. While the vegan selection makes this cafe an accessible option for group visits, it would be difficult to recommend to visitors to, or residents of Bute. The French toast was cold, the vegetarian breakfast was dry and the eggs benedict was inexplicably served with a translucent gloopy fishy stock instead of Hollandaise. Ambience is a wonderful little bistro with excellent service and truly amazing food. I highly recommend trying the seafood pizza - it's a must! My wife thoroughly enjoyed the baked potato with steak from the steak pie. The service was lovely and the chef was friendly. We will definitely be returning to Ambience the next time we visit the Isle of Bute. I suggest booking in advance as it can get quite busy - we were lucky to snag the last available table.
Lovely fresh food and excellent staff. Good vegan options too. Been a few times now with friends and family and every time it's been excellent!
Can recommend this cafe/restaurant in the most glowing terms. The staff were very welcoming when I popped in to check the menu and reserve a table for an evening meal. The service was excellent and the choice of drinks and food was great. There was a lovely friendly atmosphere and my lentil soup and haddock with a mustard sauce were outstanding.
First time diner, good meal, lots of choices on today's specials. Good portion sizes. Good value for money. A big shout out to Hailey , who served us today. Great service and couldn't do enough for us. My wife is a wheelchair user and access wasn't a problem. Maybe a board or better signage with daily specials on would be good. As the window had basic choices, but they do a lot more and need to let people know. A really good experience and definitely will return. Thanks
A friendly wee cafe with a huge specials menu. No issue catering for coeliacs In fact, it had been recommended on a coeliac facebook page. We ate lunch there twice and thoroughly enjoyed it.
