Standouts include a loaded baked potato and rich chocolate shake. The interior is pleasant and décor inviting, with convenient drive-thru and takeout options that make it a good roadside stop. Some sides — slaw, nachos, mac-and-cheese and beans — feel basic or canned, and brisket remains elusive, so it’s great for casual meals rather than a brisket destination.
The food is always good one of the better restaurants in town. Only reason I'm decreasing this review is because it always seems like they are never ready for Friday night dinner rush. The last 3 times I've been no baked potatoes. COOK MORE POTATOES. If you realize you run out 1 week cook more the next.
This place is the slowest in town. Honestly, it's not worth the wait. The food is just okay, and every time I find myself in the drive-thru, I remember why I avoid coming here.
The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was satisfactory. It's a good spot to stop by if you're traveling through, but I wouldn't recommend making a special trip just for it.
The Ribs were really tasty!!! But the pulled beef is just basic. Unfortunately the same goes for the mac-n-cheese. It seems like the baked beans and green beans are just canned. The restaurant has a really nice decor inside and the environment is nice! The price is right for drive-thru quality food.
I’ve been on a quest for incredible barbecue along the Alabama-Tennessee line, and I found that Rick's Barbecue surpassed both 306 and Lawyers in the Athens, Alabama area. I’m still on the lookout for great brisket, though! The girl who assisted me recommended the Rick's sauce, which was extremely flavorful, especially when blended with their mild sauce. The slaw, however, was quite disappointing; it was just cabbage and vinegar, and I didn’t even bother to taste it after seeing and smelling it. The pork and beef had a decent flavor, but they were much better when mixed with the combination of Rick's sauce and the mild sauce. The nachos were just basic nacho cheese sauce on chips—nothing to write home about. The highlight of my visit was definitely the helpful girl who took my order.
