This is one of our favorite restaurants, but unfortunately, the new menu is disappointing.
The food and service were excellent. However, it was quite noisy, making it hard to have a conversation, which is my main concern.
We had been hesitant to visit Mikette's in the past because we had some unpleasant experiences with the same rather rude server. However, this time we were fortunate to be served by an amazing server who took great care of us. He even followed us out to the parking lot with a pair of reading glasses he thought belonged to us, which they didn't! How thoughtful and kind of him! This time, Mikette gets a full thumbs up from us!

My husband opted for the French Onion Soup which was also very flavorful and not salty. He had a hamburger and fries, which he enjoyed but wished he had ordered something more adventurous. We decided to indulge in dessert, I chose the chocolate mousse while my husband went for the blueberry crumble gelato. The gelato was really good, but the chocolate mousse didn't stand out as much as I had hoped. I finished off the meal with a cappuccino that was smooth and not bitter. While the restaurant does offer small plates, they also have American-sized smaller entrees. This may be why some find it expensive, as the portions are smaller and one might end up ordering more dishes. Overall, I can see why people are willing to wait for a table at this restaurant. The waitstaff sets a good tone, the ambiance of the modern French bistro is perfect and not too crowded, and the food is definitely worth the wait.
