Feedback
Firetap offers a varied experience that ranges from delightful service to underwhelming cuisine. While some patrons rave about the generous portions and friendly staff—especially the attentive Sarah—others criticize the food quality, describing it as mediocre and overpriced. Highlights include a decent beer selection and standout dishes like the chicken pot pie. However, issues like unclean glassware and unappetizing food combinations tarnish its reputation. Although the atmosphere is reportedly pleasant, many diners find little incentive to return, leaving Firetap as a spot with potential, yet needing significant improvements in food quality and consistency.
The customer service is good, the front of house staff are very nice and accomodating. That is the only redeeming quality of this restaurant. The first food in many years to actually bother my gut. I am sure that would frighten most people who know me.The food quality is abysmal, the fact that this place has been rated as highly as it has is unthinkable.I had a calzone and it was soggy, swimming in what was jarred or canned tomato sauce. The meat was clearly frozen, and most of it tasted like nothing with the consistency of spongey meat cake and standard store bought pepperoni. Some folks at my table had a pizza that was wildly undercooked, not a bit of brown on the crust anywhere.Another got the halibut olympia which was absolutely swimming in oil.Another got the Saint Patrick's day special (the reuben) which was soggy.
Horrible pizza. I haven't been to Firetap in a few years and there pizza is nothing like what it used to be. It's basically a thin crust with barley any cheese that cost $27 bucks. I will never order from them again.
This review is based on a single lunch, so consider it for what it's worth. Had a soup/salad combo that was served with a freshly baked giant soft pretzel. The soup was clam chowder and it was very tasty. I got a Caesar salad and it too was excellent, topped with fresh shaved parmesian. The pretzel was a nice compliment, and it was good (and being from Philly originally....I am a soft pretzel expert). Soup and salad were offered in unlimited portions, but the initial portions were more than enough. My friend had a chicken pot pie, which sounds pretty pedestrian, but looked like it was baked for Thanksgiving, and reportedly very good. Service was friendly and quick. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and well-spaced tables, enabling private conversation. They have a very good selection of beer. Prices were reasonable. Lots of sports on TV.
My experience here was amazing, the staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was really good we had the chicken pot pie and the Philly cheese pizza, both of which were a home run! The pot pie was perfect on a cold day just the thing to get your bones warmed back up, and the pizza was just delicious with a damn good beer to top everything off, also they have a very good selection of beer. Definitely try this place out you won’t regret it!
