this was one of our favourite places! We got a seafood paella to share and tried razor clams for the first time, it was amazing! Our waiter was so personable and really made the experience. Ate here last night, and after waiting for a full hour for our food, I enquire politely if it would be ready soon. Not unreasonable I thought, but the grumpy owner told me to chill, and if I was hungry I should have ordered a starter. He brought the food, monkfish cataplana in a lovely copper casserole dish, and opened it . He then had another go at me about my impatience , so I asked him to just serve the food pleas... Delicious Portuguese food!!! The staff is professional, friendly and they suggested delicious options. It was so good that we returned to the same spot while being around the area. If you have a sweet tooth please ensure to mention the staff that you want to try the typical desserts from there; they have a selection of sweet tarts and flan that you may enjoy. Was a lovely gesture to receive a shot of liquor and port wine after our meal.
I had my all time holiday favorite, the octopus. Don 't cringe, it 's very good. This one was well done, I had more than one tentacle to it, which was nice for a change! The animal was marinated in a delicious sauce. Crispy and chewy at the same time. The vegetables served around it were a bit bland. But I was glad to order them because they 're scarce around here. My partner order a bife ala Portuguesa , marinated beef, potatoes topped with an egg. A good address at the heart of the bustling streets of Albufeira, nice staff : Time of visit: June 2018
Had a great family meal at this small but popular restaurant in the old town. We ordered paella for four which was made fresh and served beautifully. So large we each had two large portions. Washed down with 1.5l of sangria! Would thoroughly recommend.
Everything about this evening was amazing! Delicious food and faultless service. The freshest and tastiest meal we had the whole holiday and for very reasonable prices! Even the cocktails were made with all fresh fruit. The staff were so friendly with my 3yr old son, as well as very accommodating to our large party of 10 people. Thank you Restaurante Almareado!
