This bar is wonderful and has a lot more seating space than the other bars in the area which struggle to accommodate more than 5 people. Lots of travelers come here so it is a fun place to meet new people, share stories, practice Japanese and enjoy a night out. Impressive beer and whiskey selection. It's a must visit if new to Tokyo. The bartender was very friendly and took great care of me! The drinks were also delicious, made just right, and with a nice selection. The atmosphere was fun and comfortable– not too hot, not too loud. I was also able to make a couple of friends! The other bar goers were very sociable and nice. I would definitely recommend this place to both locals and foreigners! I’ll be coming back.
If you're unfamiliar with table charges and just want a nice little bar in the golden gai, come down to Araku. Pretty spacious for the bars in the area, lots of near notes written on bills pinned to the walls throughout the years. They specialize in the Japanese whiskey's that are a little hard to come by stateside but priced appropriately unfortunately. Come, meet some new people, and have a good time!
Definitely friendly and open to foreigners, come here for good cocktails and a small scale local bar feel. They even wave cover charges!!!!
Great chilled place. A lot of seats, so they don't scratch. Drinks are very expensive. Would recommend
Very friendly place with excellent riddles. Thick noodles and delicious soup. The line was short on a Sunday night.
