I have been eating here since I was a child, and I highly recommend the Stamina Teishoku! It makes me want to eat it regularly.
I visited Asanoya, a soba restaurant in Omachi town, around 13:30 on a weekday. It was a bit of a late lunch. There were many menu options including soba, udon, and curry, but I ordered the katsu-don and zaru soba set. The zaru soba arrived in just over 10 minutes. The katsu-don followed only a minute later. The set came with miso soup, pickles, and dessert. The soba noodles were thin, maybe a mixture of 80% buckwheat and 20% wheat. They were slightly firm. The soba broth was made with bonito and was a bit salty at first, but became just right as I ate. The katsu-don had a small portion of rice and the meat was thick at about 1 cm. The scrambled egg on top was firm, giving it a traditional soba restaurant feel. The broth had a strong flavor, slightly salty. Just as I finished, they offered me some soba-yu, the water used to boil the soba noodles.
