This restaurant is one of the top 3 for horumon yakisoba in Sayo. What sets this place apart from others is the miso sauce. The miso sauce, blended with over 20 different varieties, is so thick that it doesn't easily pour out of the container. Eating the miso sauce and soy sauce in a 2:1 ratio is incredibly delicious! Adding garlic or shichimi also enhances the flavor. The old building has a restroom tucked away in the back, so it may not be recommended for dates or families, but the owner, Micchan, is very friendly. There are many cats around, so if you don't like cats, you may want to avoid the place. In the winter, they also serve oden. If they're not too busy, they may even offer coffee after your meal. There have been some issues with billing, so make sure to check your bill and point out any discrepancies. In my case, I did it to support the continued operation of the restaurant. Since the spread of COVID-19, the restaurant had been closed, but as of now (April 29, 2022), it is open.
This is a must-visit restaurant for cat lovers. The Hormone Udon, enjoyed while chatting leisurely with the owner's mother, was absolutely delicious.
The restaurant is named after Mitsuko-san, who starts preparing the order once she hears it. She was very friendly and even allowed me to call her Michan. I felt like I understood why the restaurant has been around for 30 years. The hormone udon that I tried was interesting because it didn't come with sauce, but the meat was very tender and the secret sauce was delicious!
