I love the place.... So cozy... And the food is great..
DVLR is definitely one of the best fine dining restaurants in the Asia's Latin City! Aside from the superb, cozy ambiance, this resto offers an array of palatable Mexican and Italian cuisines. I love the Asadas Mexicana selections the most! Their pasta choices are scrumptious and perfectly al dente. Their arroz Cubana is a must try too! DVLR is highly recommended indeed! Great resto and great gastronomic experience! Five stars from me!
Nice ambiance and delectable food. will definitely recommend!
To start, we ordered the calamari, which were fantastic. The perfect blend of tenderness and a slight kick made the dish enjoyable, complemented by a creamy mayonnaise dip that added the right amount of savory flavor. It was exactly what we expected. Next, we tried the "Asadas Mexicanas de Cerdo," served with a vegetable side dish. The salsa was a delightful mix of sweetness, acidity, and just the right amount of salt, featuring fresh tomatoes that melded beautifully with the dish, including some corn—quite special indeed. Each bite revealed more complexity for those with a refined palate. I could have easily finished it without hesitation. For the main course, we ordered the Mexican boar. The meat was cooked to perfection, with a wonderful medium tenderness. It had a sweet and smoky flavor, maintaining a beautiful balance. While I found it somewhat sweet, it was a natural sweetness that didn’t overpower the dish. The presentation was luxurious, and the aroma was simply enticing. The rice had the perfect seasoning, with a hint of corn flavor—not too salty and never bland. It complemented the delicious salsa served alongside the pork wonderfully. I couldn’t resist adding the "arroz con ajo" to my order. The aroma was delightful, enhanced by the slight crunch of the sautéed garlic. I wonder if using a white plate would better showcase the beauty of the presentation and plating techniques. It’s a miracle I can remember anything else amidst such an incredibly delicious meal. It was a masterpiece in every sense. I extend my heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional service.
One of the best restaurants in Zamboanga! The asada is tender and perfectly seasoned. The pasta is authentic Italian—simple yet delicious, cooked to perfection with the right al dente texture. If you're in Zamboanga, Don Vicente is a must-try!
