Was Anonym at Oriel Bistro a mag?
What an absolute hidden gem, cocktail par excellence place, below the ground, with attentive service and music jazz. I had my birthday dash there with people and they have been impressed. The drinks are creatively put together, the garnishes are also well thought through, I loved it. View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Oriel Bistro:
I have to be honest. the service is 5 stars. the personal was very professional and friendly. the band is good. they are amazing musicians playing jazz, blues and souls (I was there on a Friday night). I didn't try the cocktails. I was crying. the part is eating. it is expensive because the portions are really small, and the taste is not good. I mean, it's okay, but it doesn't taste like fresh food. I also think the... View all feedback.

Went fir a Friday lunch. When we first came in, it’s was empty. But looked very cosy. We ordered from the counter and a kids menu. The kids sausages and mash took a little while, not to bad. We had our food which was fine, not bad at all, we just prefer different. We also went for coffee and dessert, it always annoys me that I don’t get this at the same time. But was really nice. Our 5 years love the place, it’s spacious it’s cosy, it’s a place where you want to go back. We enjoyed it.

On Sunday morning, my partner and I were left waiting for 40 minutes before anyone so much as looked at our table. We were the second table to get up and leave before ordering. A frustrated-looking couple who had already been waiting when we arrived, asked a member of staff behind the bar about how to order, and the waiter told them he would be out to take their order right away. They left 15 minutes later, clearly very irritated, after being ignored again. We also felt completely ignored as the waiter, clearly chatting to a regular at the bar, expressed she was attending a party later and her fake tan was sweating off her . Having previously worked in the service industry I can say that the bar was not very busy and there was no reason for tables being ignored. When we were finally acknowledged, I asked how long the food would take as we had already been waiting 40 minutes. She hesitated and told us that the food for a big table (of 6) was being prepared at the moment, and that we would have to wait 5 to 10 minutes... probably 10 . This seemed insincere so we decided to leave at this point. Upon hearing we would be leaving, the staff member in question was perfectly happy to let business leave, unapologetically muttering Okay and storming off. To have lost two tables within 20 minutes of each other is totally unacceptable. Staff were sluggish and rude, and did not seem to care for customer satisfaction or the bar 's image whatsoever. I was utterly disgusted with my experience.

Sat down straight away but to a dirty table, Waiting for a drink at the bar for 25 mins kept serving others so I gave up finally got served at the table ordered our food, I ordered vegetarian Caesar salad, got it delivered with bacon. Sent back he said there was no lettuce left! So I was served had spinach and tomatoes with coleslaw mixed into it no cheese no ceasar sauce had to ask for cheese, ordered puddings my partners came out cold she asked if it was meant to be served cold (Sticky Toffee Pudding) he told her yes this was the case? So sent it back and said to take it off the bill, I ordered the Oreo cheese cake which came In a cup mushed together with bits of crumbled cheese cake and almost tasted off there was no taste of Oreo. We waited for our bill the older waiter who I think was the manager just kept walking past not bothering with any of the customers, he was more bothered about closing down the restaurant. He was rude and kept walking off even when we were actually ordering! The other waitress was rushed off her feet doing everything and apologetic. Clearly understaffed and lets down the rest of the hotel which is extremely good quality

I chose this place to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and from our very first interaction with customer service to the end of the evening, it was an amazing experience. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. We ordered a variety of dishes, and while the main course (the pork chops) was fairly average, everything else was absolutely delicious. I was pleasantly surprised, as I didn’t expect this place to offer such high-quality food. The drinks menu was diverse and unique, with plenty of options to choose from, including wines and other beverages. The live music was another highlight of the night—it really enhanced the atmosphere and made the evening even more enjoyable. Overall, we had a fantastic time, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys live music and great food. The photos online truly don’t do it justice.

Everything from checking in to dining in and even the live music is perfect for a date!! Such a lovely ambience and atmosphere for a couple occasion or girly night! Recommend heavily to my friends and all the couples to dine in when theres jazz lives:
